Doctor Leland Dao is a Board Certified Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon. He provides a broad range of medical care for patients of all ages, from newborns and children, to adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. He now brings his services to California community after practicing for over 20 years in Haleiwa, Hawaii.
Raised in Southern California, he always had a love for the Ocean. He attended the University of California at San Diego where he received his Bachelors of Arts Degree, majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Visual Arts. He was accepted to the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California (now know as the Western University of Health Sciences) and received his Doctor of Osteopathy Degree in 1992. During his medical School training he invented the Cleanblade Surgical device. He did his Internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin Family Medicine Program and had his Residency training at the University of Hawaii Family Medicine Program.
Dr. Dao has been in private practice since 1997. His Hawaii office, the Kaena Kai Clinic, still serves generations of patients and families in the beautiful town of Haleiwa on the island of Oahu. His enthusiasm for Surfing and caring for Professional Athletes led him to become the Medical Director for the World Surf League's Hawaii Triple Crown of Surfing for 22 years running, where he still enjoys caring for the World's best surfers each year.
